How It Works and Limitations

Xbox One / One S / One X: You can play all games directly from this external SSD. It will speed up load times compared to the stock mechanical hard drive.
 
Xbox Series X / Series S: You can use it to play older backward-compatible games (Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Original Xbox). However, you cannot directly play games optimized for Xbox Series X|S from a standard USB drive; those specific next-gen games must be stored on or moved to the internal SSD (or an official proprietary expansion card) to be played. 

PlayStation 4 / PS4 Slim / PS4 Pro: Yes, it works. You can swap out the internal 2.5-inch hard drive with this SSD, or plug it in via a USB-to-SATA adapter as an external extended storage drive.

PlayStation 5: No, it cannot be installed in the PS5's internal M.2 slot. You can only use it externally via USB to store and play PS4 games through backwards compatibility, but you cannot store or play native PS5 games from it.
